Foul-mouthed email sent by Texan to upset Reds supporter. | News Of The World

LIVERPOOL'S owners have been plunged into more chaos after a foul-mouthed email rant by director Tom Hicks Jnr.

In an astonishing attack, the son of the club's Texan co-owner told a critical Kop fan: "Blow me, **** face. Go to hell. I'm sick of you."

Liverpool supporter Stephen Horner, 29, wrote to the club's owners and their sons to express his concerns for the future of the Merseyside giants.

After first being dismissed as an 'idiot', he then received the second obscene response.

The email, sent from the address of board member Hicks Jr, was also copied to Liverpool FC commercial and finance directors Ian Ayre and Phillip Nash.

Club sources insisted last night Ayre and Nash never received the offending correspondence and they have launched their own investigation into the matter.

But the email will cause further embarrassment to the under-fire Americans, who have lurched from one disaster to another since their takeover in 2007.

Horner, a London-based Kop fan of 20 years, was stunned by the response to what he believed was a perfectly polite correspondence.

He said: "I'm genuinely shaken. I can't believe a member of Liverpool's board would write to a fan in this way. It sums up how the club is being run at the moment.

"I simply emailed copies of an article which would make every Liverpool fan worried, suggesting the club's debts will prevent investment in the team.

"I was hoping for a reassuring response instead I was insulted.

"I don't want an apology, I just want them out of the club."

It is not the first time that Hicks Jr has been at the centre of controversy. He was attacked and forced to flee when he ignored threats from fans and visited a pub in Anfield two years ago. And this latest gaffe is sure to increase the pressure on his father and fellow co- owner George Gillett Jr to sell - especially at a time when their lack of investment in the team is under renewed focus.

Liverpool FC declined to comment on the matter but Sport of the World understands that Hicks Jnr sent a private apology last night.

PMSL at this bit: "It is not the first time that Hicks Jr has been at the centre of controversy. He was attacked and forced to flee when he ignored threats from fans and visited a pub in Anfield two years ago."

It's like it was his fault he was drenched in ale and forced out The Sandon.

Liverpool fans call on Tom Hicks Jr to resign over obscene email | Football | guardian.co.uk

A spokeswoman for Spirit of Shankly, James McKenna, added: "For one of the directors of the club, and the son of one of the owners, to respond to a fan with genuine concerns in such a manner is unacceptable. Many fans are angry and have major concerns with how the club is being run, and when these concerns are aired and responded to in such a way, this further goes to show how the present ownership of the football club is out of touch with what fans want. Tom Hicks Jr should resign, as his position as a director is now untenable."

From the organisation that gave us the Olympia Nuremberg Rally and a night full of thugs screaming "MUNICH, MUNICH, MUNICH...."

YouTube - Liverpool fans sing about Munich at SOS do

File under: 'You couldn't make this [Poor language removed] up'

Resigned?

It's People Power.....stupid, hypocritical, scumbag people, that is.

I look forward to the Spirit of Shankly leadership resigning en masse for their part in MUNICHGATE. It's only right and consistent, surely?

"You have to have serious hearing and brain problems to get that from yesterday's interview. I said exactly what I have been saying for the last couple of weeks. We are in negotiations with the Fortress Sports Fund, and the investment will come in two trenches somewhere between £12m and £15m for the first trench with an option, at a later date, for another £15m.

As I have repeatedly said, I am not going to divulge how much David Moyes will have to spend in the transfer window because we don't want to alert people. But David knows the amount and he is very happy with it." (29/09/04)

Sorry, this made me laugh, I was looking for something and came across this GEM!
