"You have to have serious hearing and brain problems to get that from yesterday's interview. I said exactly what I have been saying for the last couple of weeks. We are in negotiations with the Fortress Sports Fund, and the investment will come in two trenches somewhere between £12m and £15m for the first trench with an option, at a later date, for another £15m.

As I have repeatedly said, I am not going to divulge how much David Moyes will have to spend in the transfer window because we don't want to alert people. But David knows the amount and he is very happy with it." (29/09/04)
Sorry, this made me laugh, I was looking for something and came across this GEM!

ahhhhh mr wynass i do belive

The Spirit of Shankley, what a stupid bloody name, why do they call themselves that when the man himself sair this when in retirement:

'I have not been short of invations to other clubs and have been received more warmly by Everton than by Liverpool'

There cretinous fans neither said nor did anything at that time when he had been cast out by their beloved club.............yet it suits them to evoke the spirit of this discarded has been to prove some stupid point, the word tossers springs to mind.

PS Most reds claim he never said it but it was taken from a filmed interview and is in the public domain.

Tom Hicks Junior - Resignation – Spirit Of Shankly – Liverpool Supporters' Union

Spirit of Shankly welcomes the resignation of Tom Hicks Junior from the Board of Liverpool FC and its parent company.

The standards we have seen exercised in the Boardroom have been unbefitting of this great Club since Hicks Junior, his father, George Gillett and other associates arrived at the Club, with false promises.
If these are the kind of values they see fit for Liverpool Football Club, and this is how they respect our legacies and traditions, it underlines the need to remove them from the club. The action taken by the Union to publicise and seek Tom Hicks Junior's removal is another part of us saying "If you won't recognise our standards then we will remind you again and again until you do".

:lol::lol:

It's all about not meeting Liverpool Football Club and their fans 'standards'.

<laughs uncontrollably at the irony of it all>

To call them pathetic doesn't do them justice, they're far worse

It's all the one mentality they're poking fun at, I suppose. There are those who operate under the principle that the squeekiest wheel gets the grease. Liverpool supporters are the most embarrassing exponents of the philosophy. Little wonder most football supporters have a complete disregard for their tactics....which include, of course, ousting their own managers by sending bullets in the post (nice concern for Msr Houllier's heart condition) and conducting a campaign of death threats toward one of their co-owners.

At least they can't be accused of not maintaining consistent(ly low) standards.

As they say: "If you won't recognise our standards then we will remind you again and again until you do".

Maybe dem Yanks should get outside Anfield and swipe the tickets off Liverpool supporters queuing to get in...just like Athens. Surely they'll welcome them with open arms then for respecting their 'standards'?

Americans taking LFC to pieces, got to enjoy it, and a cup replay tonight I think, or is it tomorrow, with Reading, that should be interesting.
