Hopefully in this new modern age, someone will start a breakaway league, and hopefully they’ll be chilli dogs and beer….and T-Shirt Cannons!!
You only make fun of t shirt cannon until there are t shirt cannons and then you just enjoy it because they're great

I don’t mind fuming at the odd ref who has had a stinker when you’re playing Palace or Leicester etc. because in those scenarios it probably would even itself out over the course of a season

What is dispiriting is the continued feeling of big club bias, especially at home grounds ‘the ref probably felt he couldn’t give that at Anfield/Old Trafford’, and the hysterical media reaction that accompanies any decision that doesn’t go the way of the big teams to pile pressure on referees for the next game.

It’s like they just find new ways to screw teams. It used to be players handling balls on the line, then it was teams conceding goals that weren’t over the line, or the ball was out of play in the build up. So they brought in additional officials and goal line technology. So then it seemed to be ridiculous offside calls, absurd penalty decisions etc. So VAR came in, and now we’ve got a situation where they either don’t consult VAR or they do and just abuse it to legitimise an incorrect decision e.g the dodgy offside lines.

Is it too much to ask for officials to stop finding ingenious ways around the technology and just embrace some fair impartial refereeing.

Keep goal line technology get rid of VAR completely, again unfairly in my view another goal ruled out that should have been given. It's every week now. I said when posters on here were serenading VAR that it would just help out the big clubs even more and it has, refs were always bias, starstruck, scared to give the big decisions against the big clubs and now they have a helping hand.

Salary cap won't work, state owned clubs would divert the wages off the turnover to state owned banks to hide from the authorities, city did it with image rights to a Caymen Islands account created by a man city fan Tory peer, that was leaked in the emails in 2019.

The whole point of the ESL is football leadership has had enough of Uefa getting the biggest slice of the money ( TV and commercial) whilst letting the sportswash teams manipulate the FFP rules with petty fines, Uefa are utterly pathetic, they put in five year statute rules, then decide to enforce PSG and City breaking FFP rules and take them to task, but they are so corrupt they did this at the end of year 4 of the violations, so PSG and City just delayed the process knowing CAS would throw the charges out when the trial started after the five year statute.

ESL teams can cut Uefa out and create their own individual TV rights if this ESL goes ahead.

I will translate here for you all.

I HATE MAN CITY BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE UTTER GALL TO CHALLENGE MY BELOVED LFC.

Uefa have bitten back!!!?

I think this format is awful, the new format of 5 home games and 5 away games will help Uefa keep the big teams apart till the knockout phase, bet the top ranked sides will get 10 games against the bottom ranked teams. Noticed on their website that the europa league and conference are going to have this new format as well.

All teams playing 4 more matches, so 7 of the premier league teams playing 4 more matches per season. Where will they fit in the fixtures? Will teams have to play u23 teams in the early rounds of the FA cup and League Cup? will they get a bye into later rounds?
This is why they wanted the league reduced to 18 teams.

Agreed that format looks awful. Also there’s the safety net for all the ‘big’ teams who don’t make it into the top 8 that they will get a no doubt seeded play off over two legs (no doubt second leg at home) to still end up in the knockout stages.

So the likes of Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern etc. even if they were utterly abysmal for half a season and ended up finishing in about 15th, would more than likely have a two legged tie with the second leg at home against some minnow (no doubt with VAR making sure of the outcome).

UEFA may as well just pick who they want in the last 16 every season and scrap the rest of it.

I agree, the big champions league teams are worried they will be like AC Milan and go from being in the champions league final one year and then go 7 years without qualifying for it. So in the new format there are 2 places for the higher coefficient teams to be bumped up from europa league place or europa conference place into the champions league.

So a team like Liverpool could finish 7th in the premier league and Should be in the europa conference, but they will be bumped up to the Champions League.

Laporta making noises that the super league isn’t dead. I wish we’d let the original one go to be honest, it would have died a death. If they make the new one some sort of successor trophy to the CL that allows them to also stay in the premier league then it’s just a further consolidation of all the money and prestige with an elite few clubs whilst the rest will wither.

A super league has to mean they are out of the PL and it is in competition to the CL, not a direct replacement for it. That’s the only way these clubs die for their greed.
