but what happened to the TW forum?? i didnt post on it that much anyway, but still intrigued to know what actually caused it to close, and on the info it says

We're not sure when it will return. Stay tuned...

I will be sticking around here though, even though i hate the forum software !!! IPB is much better !!!

They were having problems with it and ultimately decided to drop the forum. I forget the details (assuming I ever knew them).

Danny wanted to make a new site and we all love him so instead of posting on the TW forum ruled by little hitler himself we starting posting on here and because of the lack of numbers little hitler did the same as big hitler and gave up.

If that is the case though, as bad as Garrrrreh was he did do a job for us all there. So even if it turned to [Poor language removed] in the end and he gave up, we do have a small amount of thanks (or at least I do) to give him.
GoT would not exist today if he hadn't put his hand in his pocket for a TWF.

Contrary to a few opinions on this forum, I felt TW, for all of the warts it had, was a good site and for me, easy on the eyes and easy to navigate. Unfortunately, after several regular posters moved on, it really wasn't the same.

However, I think had it lasted until the season started, it could have made a resurgence but I guess we'll never know now.

I don't know the reason it shut down but it is what it is.

I'd be happy to see it make a comeback. For me, it was "home" as it was really the first Everton forum I ever posted on. No one made me feel unwelcome and for the most part, I thought everyone treated everyone else with a good amount of respect, whether they agreed with their opinions or not.

The site was gash! FACT!

JK really. Truth was it did seem like a very well designed site. The problems they had are the sort of problems any community site has as it grows and what I call the tyrrany of numbers. as someone in their 40's who has been online since the days of dial up BBS I have seen it hundreds of times. Even our little pleasantville here had it's own little drama just recently. You see, it is just too easy in this medium to be missunderstood. Without body language, tonal inflection and often terse messages it is hard to know what someone really means at time and thus easy to assume you've just been offenended.

The other scenario is that it is just as easy to fall into the trap that being soemwhat nameless and faceless grants us a certain amount of immunity and therefore emboldens us to say things we might not otherwise say. It's easy to hurt people we don't know and who can't really fight back.

So while TW went through it's growing pains a while ago so too will GOT. It comes down to some basic mutual respect and always acting like your mamma is watching you, even when she isn't. My daughter elementary scholl has a great poster up in their gym along with several other motivational kinds of things that says, Character is what you do when nobody is looking.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, everything we do is being watched, cataloged and filed and we are not nearly annomimous as we may like to think.

Now cue the jack booted thugs and run this guy out of here!!
