How many times do I have to go through this with you? If I've said that every penny of the extra revenue should go on transfers then why don't you just quote me on it instead of relying on your impressions?
An extra 20-30 million pound gives the club far more room to maneuver in the transfer market than it could previously, this is because the loss will be stopped and there will be some left over. Hence, why I don't think re-investing money from player sales constitutes pushing the boat out
You seem obsessed with the idea that Kenwright is going to prematurely pay off our long term debt, and I've explained how he has never done this before, and that he would only benefit from doing so if the sale of the club is on the horizon, otherwise it makes little sense to pay off the debt prematurely at the expense of squad improvement.
Any extra funds after player sales that you have spoken about (above) will be off the back off the new revenue, even if it's through advancing the cash through loans from directors. And I don't really consider that to be pushing the boat out either, it's just spending our revenue which is the very least that we should be expecting.
As Kenwright ever had the money to reduce the debt ay?. No he hasn't!. Before this summer, we earned something like £86 million plus a season through tv money, season tickets, merchandise sales etc, etc, and even that wasn't enough to cover costs and we was making £5-6m loses each season, till last season when we made a £9m plus loss, so how is all that gonna get covered if we use all are new revenue on the squad like you suggest?!.
You have to cover your losses and pay your debts!. So if you take a loan out from bank and just **** off the payments and spend your money elsewhere, don't you think they'll take actions to get money from you?. Your in debt, you've to pay it some how, same as the club as to service there, year in, year out.
The banks aren't daft and will know were in for a windfall and will ask for a bigger payment cos they'll feel we can afford it now, and we can so Kenwright will do it i'd imagine!. He is in debt to banks, to Earl & Green, he's mortgaged to the hilt and you don't think he'll use any extra income to please any of them and just use it on squad rebuilding, get fcuked mate!.
You say i'd be a dream for Kenwright with what im saying but it's the harsh reality of the financial sh!t are club is in!. Fcuking hell, im glad someone like you ya moron aint running club cos we would be fcuked!. It doesn't matter if no takeover is on the horizon, if were getting money coming in we didn't have before, it would be wise for our skint chairman to use some of that to ease his debts. In turn that could help attract investors to either buy the club or invest in buying and building a new stadium for us?!.
There is no way like you suggest that what new revenue comes in will go solely on transfers, it just wont wether you like it or not or think it should or not!. I'd be surprised if Martinez as anywhere near £10m before sales?!. And he will have to sell before he can improve the squad sufficiently!.
We need atleast 6 players IMO!. Either a back up keeper or young keeper to groom and take over Howard, a CB to replace Distin, IF/when Felli goes we'll need to replace him, and I think we need an AMC, a striker and cover in the wide areas. Now if we end up selling Fellaini and end up with £30m nearly for transfers but need that amount of players to improve the team quality and squad size, then we cant be going out and spending near on half of that £30m IMO on one single player!.
Maybe pushing the boat out isn't the right word, but we shouldn't be spending £12m or more, out of say £30m, on one player, no way!. I'd fcuking love us to mate, I really would but we cant, not even with £30m!. Are squad was small as it is in number, now weve lost 3 players from that and could possibly lose one of our better players and yet you think it would be fine to blow near on half our budget on one single player?!.
At end of day, I know were in financial sh!t and will definitely not see all of the new income that comes in, go towards squad building, but you seem to think it should and will and we'll end by agreeing to agree to disagree with each other, but i'll be one saying I told you so when we don't go and spend £50m or more this summer cos of our kitty and after Fellaini's sale!.
