The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I've been thinking and I really don't want Fellaini to leave anymore.

In a perfect world he wouldn't have to. But he's got a release clause so someone COULD take him against our wishes; Furthermore we need the cash from his sale to improve the size and depth of the squad and to create competition for existing players. Without selling Mofro, we have about £9m to play with, tops.

If he goes and generates £23m, that could give us a pot of £30m-ish to rejuvenate our squad. At the risk of getting all Champ Manager:

Dragovic: £5m
Fer: £8m
De Guzman: £6m
Belhanda: £10m (with Gueye going to Montpellier)

That's four players that could all conceivably take spaces in the starting eleven, generating competition for places with the likes of Distin, Gibson and Osman. Also provides cover at RM, our weakest position.

For $hits and giggles we could also sell Heitinga for £3m, loan Duffy out, sign Douglas on a free from FC Twente and have a couple mill in change.

But none of it can happen unless we raise funds by selling Fellaini.

If we pay £6.5m for a newly relegated soon to be 30 year old player that was bought for half that price a year ago, I will fume. A lot.

Just think about this though. Mignolet £11m+ and juve just agreed a £10m deal for Tevez. Don't think just because they have money to spend that they are spending it in the right way. If they get Mkhitaryan though I will be a little peeved as I really want him to come here especially if we play 4-3-3.

Whilst I agree with the point you are making (that it's how you spend it, not how much). I still think Mignolet is a fantastic goalkeeper and will do well for them. Aspas is a little riskier but for £7m it's not much for them, whilst it may be a huge fee for us, it's not for them.

Daily Mail report that Birmingham City have rejected a bid from Everton for Nathan Redmond. Swansea and Norwich have had bids accepted.

If true this does not bode well.

we'll double our bid up to 300k next week. why pay the massive £2m they want to when we can just keep the money and buy no-one? (y)

£5m for kone!! no thanks!!

the bloke is 29 and scored 29 goals in the last 5 years at club level!

that includes his stint at saville with 40 apps and 1 goal!!!

Yeah I want afellay quality player and he'll be dirt cheap as baca just want rid and they only payed 3 million for him.

Dont think he'd come here we supposedly tried to sign afellay before he went to barca and he supposedly said he didn't like the feel of the place
