I had my mate at work translate the turkish eurosport Manuel Fernandes story. This is what he said:

"According to Fotomac (turkish sports paper) Fernandes is very close to agreeing a contract with Everton. He (Manny) has told his manager Jorge that he wants a new club and don't want to keep on playing for Besiktas.
Fernandes has a dispute with Besiktas for not being paid for 6 months."

My mate is a major Galatasaray-supporter and said that he'd been absolutely fantastic in the turkish league and that many Gala-fans is crossing their fingers for him to sign for them. Even though they'd be happy if he would just leave their rival club.

Didn't one of our sauces (fox or bally) say some time ago that the first in would be a free and was close? I'd be very happy with Manny, though I do agree that he can go missing, but boy, do that boy just love having the ball.

Manny is a free agent now i think as Besiktas havent payed his wages for months. Wether its real or not, on Twitter there is an account for Fernandes, @manny_fernandes 4, and one evertonian asked him if he'd one day play for Everton again and Fernandes' account replied 'maybe one day', or summat like that.

But then in another post to a question, he said he wants to play CL football next season, so that rules us out even if we was interested. But if he was a freebie, surely we'd be interested regardless?!.

Never been a defensive mid pal. Would be good in an attacking mid role with a liscence to roam IMO though, got the skills, shot and likes a through ball, which Jela will love!.

Good sign. Is he really valued at 3-4 million, im sure i read somewhere he was out of contract next Jan?! Would be good on the cheap, doesnt look an out an out striker, looks to drop deep and get involved and is more of a creative, second striker from what ive seen.

IF good enough, maybe the one to play in behind Jelavic in time?.

I don't see what the problem is to be honest, he's a high level player, someone who would fit into any team in the world and do a solid job. He's also very entertaining to watch, which is why he's been a fan favourite at every club he's been at.
