And even those months have nice days when I can take the top down on the convertible and it's a balmy 20c

Wow. Your winters are generally colder than mine - although I don't ever remember having even one day between Dec and Feb where it was 20c.

You're in NC, right (going by the clue in your handle)? Does everyone have nice frosty air-con or do you actually like 30c+ in the summer?

There are rumours of people out in the countryside that live without Air Conditioning. These are natives. They are insane. Life without air conditioning in the Southern United States is absolute madness. In fact, when looking for a house I didn't even check to see if houses had central air. I figured they all must come with it (and they do unless they're 50+ years old and haven't changed hands in that time).

The most brutal of weeks will see a good stretch of upper 30's/lower 40's and 70-90% humidity. I can't comprehend life without A/C...or even a vehicle without it (barring motorcycles, and the like).

If I wasn't off work recovering from surgery, I'd be off work refusing to travel on sweltering public transport and refusing to step into an office with no air-con. It upsets me that England is not set up to deal with the heat we get every summer.

Rain, glorious rain this morning. Hope this starts our wet season off well as California desperately needs it.

Roads are going to be a nightmare this morning, very slick and everyone seems to forget how to drive in the rain after not seeing it for 4 months.
