The young guns.

Isaac Price is a name you’ve left out , but he’s like the rest of them they’re young , inexperienced and unlikely to make a big impact yet . Dobbin and Onyango will be good squad players, I could even see Dobbin getting starts, I’d take him or Simms over Rondon any day.

The reality is probably 80% of Evertonians wouldn’t recognise most of their names , unless it’s a Rooney or Barkley with attendant publicity most don’t care about our youngsters until they’re in the first team regularly.

We’ve potentially got a bunch of older youngsters who could make a big impact this season in Gordon, Branthwaite, Patterson, Simms, Nkounkou . We’re a club who finished in the bottom six, have no money to spend and have sold our best player , bringing through the right youngsters at the right time is key to our future, we know we can’t spend our way to success.

We need to loan them out so they can get some experience and come back better, or get sold. I can't remember the last youth product who went straight into the first team.

Can any of the young academy players make an impact on the first team this season?

Dobbin
Onyango
Simms
Warrington
Whitaker
Mills
Welch
Campbell
I may be leaving someone out in that list.
5subs, think some will definitely breakthrough this year

The old gits in front of me in the ground in the late 1960s used to say that about Joe Royle, & other youngsters who made the grade in the end - Colin Harvey took tremendous stick too as he started upfront ......

I'd pull Dobbin aside and show him videos and tactical breakdowns on how Brennan Johnson plays.

Small margins can be the making of a player. He certainly has the tools to make it, but so do many others who fall down the leagues.
