The guy who started the Zeitgeist movie, Peter Joseph, is an absolute tard. He's a liar and a con-artist. The bull**** conspiracy theories he tried to put forward in the Zeitgeist movies are debunked all over the internet.

However, the Venus Project, which is included in Zeitgeist addendum, is absolutely fascinating, the brainchild of Jacque Fresco. It's basically an advocation of a Technocratic form of government, and it's genius. Just a shame it'll never happen.

The difference between this and socialism is that the venus project (which is Jaque Fresco's project), is putting forward the idea that with the massive advancements in technology over the past decade, industry can be automated to the point whereby people will not have to work and will basically want for nothing.

I know this sounds a bit too good to be true but if you take the time to watch the presentation called Addendum, the ideas would definately become clearer.

before you dismiss it, just watch the first 10 minutes of it or something...

I think they're reinventing the wheel a bit. Isn't that what socialists have been arguing for decades - that we long ago reached a point where human need could be provided for by a fraction of the effort that would have been required at the begining of the industrial age?

I've just listened to that first 10 minutes and they say they dont believe in divisionary notions including class, just 'employers and employees' equally culpable for the mess of economic growth by chasing greater profit and income. Where does the 'power elite' come from then? If we're all in on it, why would you need an elite weilding power to keep the 'profit mentality system' in place? I have a feeling somehwere else on that 1hr 30m video the term 'sinister world government' and a picture of a villain stroking a cat will emerge.

It could happen though if enough people tried to make it happen, that much is fact. A small group of people are never going to have the upper hand in a battle with cat stroking villains who control the police.

Im not trying to start a revolution lads so dont take the piss too much.

It's crackpot stuff, Doc. I don't pretend to know best. But what I do know, is if you are interested in change in any shape or form, you'd be better getting involved with an established political party or with a respected pressure group; that is, with a group that's members really can make a difference to the political climate. Any genuinely good ideas that exist within the Zeitgeist movement will exist in those domains.

This Zeitgeist movement will at best be ridiculed and at worst forgotten about. Either spend your time pishing against the wind or spend it more constructively.

Just take a look at this opening paragraph:

It actually means nothing whatsoever. If these people has some genuine insight then it needs spelling out and backing up with evidence. All the above is, is the vague construction of sentences with key expressions that actually don't relate to anything in particular. It's complete and utter bull****.

Hey dude, why the hostility? We all share this small part of the cosmos. Cant we all like, err, debate the issue in an open and friendly manner? The concept of the power elite is a real mind fcuk, I know, but get with our programme guy. Seriously, it could save the planet.
