Theo Walcott is an interesting transfer. It is possible to see the advantages and disadvantages surrounding his transfer.

The fee is probably one of the advantages as strange as that may seem . 20m in todays market for a player who is not yet 29 has loads of pace and a good goal scoring record seems very good value.
There is no reason why he cannot retain his pace for another three or four seasons and brings a threat to our team that is sadly lacking. He certainly has gone stale at Arsenal and there is no doubt that in eighteen months he would be another player walking away from Highbury for nothing I believe this is at least a consideration in his sale in this window. I would predict we will not see a Sanchez/Osil situation happening there for a long time to come.

There are limitations to his game but then most players have areas of weaknesses in their game.

I think that any Everton team at present that would have Walcott in it would have way more attacking threat than anything we have seen from Everton this season. The bar has been set low in that regard.

If true, it`s going to be a bit of a culture shock for him, a the ball gets webbed aimlessly up towards him from the back.

Still, he won`t be lonely, he can keep Tosun company.

The only time we’ll see them together is the Awards night at the end of the season.

They probably won’t fit into Sam’s 4-6-0 formation anyway mate.
