He's 28 Dave. Ffs. Not about to retire is he. He should be at peak performance at that age and for £20m, in this day and age of astronomical fees, it's a 'kin snip.

Y'all talking about a plan. Here's the plan: Buy better players than the ones we've currently got, buy someone who can score and buy someone who can create as well as score who also has pace to burn, something we, of course, do not have. Hell, even I can work that one out.

Can't believe you're so convinced Theo Walcott is going to be that player in this team. He's another one who doesn't strike me as having much mental toughness, so at least he'll fit into the dressing room comfortably.

We'll see. But I think it's a gamble and sends out the wrong signals about the club: "go to Everton and retire".

Retire at 28, what do you think is the shelf life of a player before they regress mate, should we be thinking of replacing say Coleman at 29.

Walcott may score or assist in every game until the end of the season, go to the World Cup and star, what message does that send out, especially to high quality players stockpiled on the bench of CL clubs.

A new sherif in town?

He's played almost 400 games for Arsenal. You don't do that if you're a bottler. I reckon we'll be saying the lad is a steal by next season. Not 100% he'll set the World alight under Sam, considering his anti-football tactics, but if we get shot of him in the summer then Walcott may turn out to be a major bargain. Still think he'll be better than anything we've got currently though.

Spot on.

It's just a case of how badly our defensive tactics affect him that will be decisive in how well he does.

I'm looking forward to all the people slating him getting vaulted.

Haha, I definitely reckon there'll be a few over at Arsenal Fan TV who'd have a lot to say about that.

We shall see I guess. I can only say I hope you're right and it's not another £20m pissed away.

29 in 6 weeks, how many out and out pacy wide players do you see in the Premiership past this age. Not very many. Another £20 million that we won’t get back to spend on other players. A short term signing to benefit a short term manager.

Deluded mate.

He scored 19 goals for a very attacking Arsenal team. That equates to about 5 for us.

We aren’t going to sign a Sanchez but at least we could think outside of the box to try and find the next Sanchez.

If we keep signing mid table Premier League players who’re proven to be not good enough for the top, we aren’t going to reach the top.

But we havent signed a mid table Premier League player, we have gone for an Arsenal player, besides Walsh trying to think outside of the box is how we got Sandro!

We need more signings like this one
