Shame Walcott picks up an injury like that after he starts finding a bit of good form. Hopefully, the break we now have will be enough time for him to recover for our next game.

The way we fell of a cliff for a large potion of the game once he went off should at least help the people who ask what he does or why he is in the team.

As soon as he went off Palace started to push forward as they didn't have to worry about Walcotts pace and movement over the top.

Decent game today and I've never had a big problem with him. Hope he gets fit for the next game.

Think its similar to schneiderlin really...does a couple of decent / good things and suddenly hes great.

Id be tempted to keep him another season if we get Europe but he really needs someone to start ahead of him.

Even if we don't get Europe, a 31 year old winger on big wages going into the last year of his contract won't be attracting too many offer.... think he'll be here another season regardless, just hope we get another type of RW, namely a left-footer who can cut in.

Sidibe was a disaster today.

Had a great chance in 2nd half and panicked big time and gave the ball away, I thought it was the right sub to bring on but he was terrible

In Marcel Brands presentation at the AGM, he showed twenty five players in a 4-4-2 formation that showed we had cover for every position except the right wing - only Walcott was shown in that position. It has clearly been Ancelotti/Brands priority since Carlo replaced Marco Silva.
It also showed that both had confidence in Walcott, unlike some vociferous posters on this forum.

Carlo seems to have confidence win in him. Bernard/Iwobi seems to be his options on the left to cut in and Walcott as a flyer on the right. At a push Richarlison could probably play there with Kean and DCL upfront. Looks like it’s an area we’ll be targeting in the summer.

Just a shame Lookman didn’t seem focussed with us because it would have been interesting to see him get a run under Ancelotti.
