....it’s the way it is. We got Bernard on a free which is why he’s on big bucks.

The power largely rests with players these days. I’m sure the Walcott deal was the best we could’ve got.

Fair enough if you think that. For me personally I think we could of done better. I like brands but I think that the club was in such a mess when he came in that he's just of the opinion of get them out so their just gone and he doesn't have to worry about them.

It feels like he has our income and our expenditure and as long as those two numbers tally he's not really interested in getting the best deal or bringing the maximum amount of money for players. Like a offer comes in then he sees if it tallies he just accepts it.

Hopefully when he gets rid of all the dross in the squad he can concentrate on getting getting better money for our players. I guess selling kean this summer will be the acid test. If we cant get £40m for a 21 year old whos just scored 17 goals in 39 appearances (27 starts) off one of if not the richest team in the world then I will just give up.

Only just seen there that he's staying at Southampton now.

Was inconsistent and down right infuriating at times, but was still one of the few at the club who could pull some magic out of a hat from time to time. Wish him well.

...his contract was up, no way the player would agree to a loan deal with that clause. We got his wages off the books for a season (not sure if there was a loan fee involved), that was the best we could’ve done.

Great time to be a footballer.
I think we only got some of his wages off the books Eggs, maybe half. To be honest after his initial spell here, when scored two or three goals, he never looked like he wanted to be here and flattered to deceive and was another of those players who shirked fifty fifty tackles.
He will now get a decent signing on fee plus a two year contract that will get him another few million pounds to his bank balance, lovely profession to be in, without any back breaking work involved.

He thanked everyone at Everton . I don't think I'd remember him with any real fondness or with any disgust . A real shame he wasn't a tad more skillfull with his crosses as he was fast and not lacking in physicality but just had no end product.
Not an entirely a flop but put him under the "meh" column .

...absolutely.

I know he didn’t pull up any trees here, but historically Walcott is the type of player I have liked. He’s uncomplicated in that he gets behind the opposition with pace when in possession and he finds himself in goal scoring situations when not in possession.

He wasn’t a success for us but in terms of balance I always thought we looked better when he was in the side.

Fair enough Eggs, I’ll concede he had the element of surprise with his pace at least.

One of the few players ive not heard i dont think say a bad word about Everton, only ever heard him be nice about Us
We have paid him huge dollar. Good of him to be grateful. He missed many games through injury and never looked that disappointed when hooked. The Chomping Walrus (Allardyce) maybe got a brown envelope (I have no proof of this).

Many players get payed to much by us to be fair, and then still have their little digs at us when they want to go or after they leave, I have not heard Walcott myself to be fair

...quite often players get lots of stick for missing chances but I like it when wingers consistently get on the end of things. The ones who don’t have chances often escape criticism because they do things that don’t particularly matter.

As i say, we won’t remember Walcott with fondness but if we get an uncomplicated winger with real pace, creativity and a decent goalscoring record, then I’ll be content.

We've signed & still have worse Bernard - one of big Sam's expensive signings gone Tuson to go yet ......
Always going to lose money on any deal with him ......
