Im a bit lost on why we'd be using clubs protected by FFP and premier league profit and sustainability rules as a benchmark.

To break into that ceiling you need to break the mould and do something differently.

The money saved by 8-10 under21s in a squad would be huge in fees and wages. That saving could go straight into the conveyor belt of signing young players and one or two first team starters per season.

It has nothing to do with FFP.

I doubt there is a Premiership club with 8-10 players in their squad. I listed the top four because suely that is where we aspire to be ?

henderson, williams, lingard, mctominay, rashford, greenwood, shoretire, pogba (even though he left and came back) and there will be a few others they'll probably give game time to this season
