Things have changed - Top 8

good post but i'm still reluctant to call ourselves part of the top 8, just because i don't want to show the same arrogance that liverpool fans showed not too long ago with that designation.

we're only 5 points ahead of b'ham, and villa are 4 ahead of us with a game in hand. to say that we are part of the elite top level premier league clubs club, but b'ham aren't, to me shows the same disrespect for the teams below us that the classic sky 4 showed toward us. in my opinion the league is flattening, or atleast its certainly flatter than in previous years.

this season, it seems more than ever bigger teams can't write off the smaller teams as easy wins. i haven't looked at any empirics on it, but if memory serves it seems like there have been a lot more upsets this year than in previous years. i wouldn't approach a game against say fulham with any less caution than i would a game against spurs which i think shows progress towards creating a more competitive league.

Liverpool fans think that any title is good enough. They're orgasming at the prospect of winning the Europa cup, even though the only reason they're there is because they ****ed their CL prospects up.

I still feel you could well finish 7th, possibly 6th. And as mentioned previously, if it wasn't for the injuries earlier on you could well be giving Spurs and City some trouble.

Interesting post mate, it's good to see that you think Everton have gone up a level in how we're thought of abroad, I know you read a lot of that stuff. It'd be good if you stuck around a bit here actually, give us some of your ridiculously comprehensive media roundups.

right I understand that, I just think it's disrespectful to say we're a class above clubs like Birmingham (we're top 8, they aren't) when they are only 4 points behind us, it devalues their accomplishments this season
