At the start of every season, it's there, bright and breezy with all the zest of a puppy chasing a ball. Then, slowly, the reality seeps in. It starts with a draw or a loss, away at an unfancied team. The seep turns to a trickle, with an injury, and then starts to flood away when we play the rs for the first time and we have a key player suspended for the next three games for daring to win a clean tackle in front of clatenburg .
