?As a kid I played entire league seasons of subbutteo against some mates. We built up a history. My teams were Everton (obviously) and Wolves. Everton won the inaugural title with Adrian Heath top scorer. Next season one of my "friends" trod on inchy and with glue around his ankles he was never the same since.
As we went off to college and uni I kept the seasons going by "playing with myself" (sigh ... go on). Then eventually it all got transferred from subbutteo to pro-evo soccer. I still play the seasons now, freely building my own teams ... Messi is finishing his career at Notts Forest, Rashford and Lukaku are at Derby and Harry Kane spearheads Man U. Everton only have actual Everton players though, and if real DCL/Coleman are injured, then I don't play them in my team etc. Derby have won the European Cup (a knock out competition involving ONLY champions) 6 years in a row, equalling Stoke City's record in the noughties. Stoke are still 3 behind Everton's total though, as in my league Heysel never happened and the Toffees dominated the 80s and 90s.
I like it more than real football. Its less of a procession who will win, there's no var, no favouritism, no pundits and no bent refs.
Obviously spreadsheets are involved.
Might have a game this affo.
Ahh ... but success was earned slowly growing a squad rather than buying it because a sugar daddy rocked up. And in those 6 years they only qualified by defending the Cup as winners, because a variety of other teams (Everton, Aston V, Notts Forest, Man Utd) won the league titles.

I have just started with my little boy. I found out there's a Lego club you can join where you pay a subscription and they send you Lego and you can build it and send it back. Like a Lego library.Build Lego. Only started this year. Expensive hobby mind.
I started collecting boxed subbuteo teams a few years ago, got quite a few now which are in mint condition. Probably worth less than I paid for them though. As a kid I played entire league seasons of subbutteo against some mates. We built up a history. My teams were Everton (obviously) and Wolves. I gave all my old stuff to my god son a few years back. None were in boxes (took up too much space!) otherwise would've been worth a fair bit.I started collecting boxed subbuteo teams a few years ago, got quite a few now which are in mint condition. Probably worth less than I paid for them though.
