Hi all, one year ago I was sitting devastated in this same room, at the same place. Fortuna, the team I follow home & away here in Holland, lost 5-1 to Excelsior Rotterdam. The footballing part wasn't important at all though, because on my way home from that match, I received the news that one of my best mates (also at the match), lost his life in a car crash on his way home.
Can still see myself sitting behind this laptop, trying to explain what I felt on the online condolences register at our website Fortuna Online. At the time, I was only a member on GOT for a little bit more than 2 months. Even though, I decided to post the pain I felt on this forum.
Have to say the condolances and messages of support I received were really overwelming. Either through posting in the dedicated thread, profile page or through pm's. It was then, when I realised what a special place GOT really was. To offer so much support to a complete stranger, was unbelievable, but so, so appreciated. Looking back to that, I can't say how much of a help you've been to me, to give it a place. Would like to thank you for that again.
As said, has been a year to date today and it still hurts like hell. There's not a day, I don't think about him and after our 5-1 victory last night, I was sitting inside the stadium crying, while listening to his fave song: "Why does it always rain on me?" Once again many thanks, you're really are a top bunch.
