A STAR-STUDDED cast is expected to attend the latest mass demonstration being held to oust Tom Hicks and George Gillett as owners of Liverpool FC.

The “Independence Day” rally tomorrow is being organised by the Spirit Of Shankly group of Reds supporters.

Among those due to attend the event on St George’s Hall plateau are Bill Shankly’s grand-daughter Karen Gill, LFC legend John Aldridge and fast-rising comedian John Bishop.

Liverpool musicians, including Ian McNabb (Icicle Works), John Power (Cast and The La’s), Peter Hooton (The Farm), and Pete Wylie (The Wah!), are also expected to be present.

Organisers said the main focus of the event would be the announcement of a supporter ownership scheme.

July 4 was chosen for the rally because it is Independence Day in the USA.

It begins at 12pm

It is absolutely unreal isn't it? I mean, I understand them fuming at watching their team really lose it but its also highlighting their collective need for attention. It's not about the football, it's about getting some reflected glory/attention off their chosen team.

They seem to harp on about dignity and style, this has neither and will just make their transition to geordies one step closer, ostracise them from any potential American investment and just generally make them look like blerts.

Have you seen the teds that lead these groups? They're the self congratulating, big worded sort who would molest a medium sized rodent just to get two minute coverage on Granada Northwest News and away from their shitty, shitty lives.
