to be fair I think of all the names there is no one who wouldn't be a massive gamble.
Not necessarily. There’s been many examples when a manager who works with a shoe string budget goes to a bigger club and it doesn’t work. Moyes at United, Mark Hughes at City and to a lesser extent Stoke now they’re spending money, Koeman (to a lesser extent), Hodgson at Liverpool.Dyche or Howe at least know the Premier and what it takes. Both could do better with a bit of money to spend.
If we want to splash some cash I'd go for Blanc

They tend to have a clearer idea about who will work in what systems because they can't afford mistakes. They also tend to be good at Man Management and wringing the best out of a squad. The latter would be needed while he solidifies and then transitions our squad. Not necessarily. Just because they do well bargain hunting doesn’t mean they’ll do even better with more money.
It's not, should have known. I think I should retire from public life.Might just be me, but I can't find any Telegraph (or Financial Times) articles attributed to him.
I don’t disagree but I think Moyes is a great example of how some managers are suited to certain types of clubs i.e. underdogs. He excelled in signing players that had lost their way or undiscovered gems a bit and turning them in to very good (but not top) players such as Arteta, Pienaar and Cahill. Managing top players takes more. They tend to have a clearer idea about who will work in what systems because they can't afford mistakes. You aren't wrong, but I don't see Tuchel being anymore certain to succeed than the likes of Dyche or Howe. His record so far doesn't show any great potential.I don’t disagree but I think Moyes is a great example of how some managers are suited to certain types of clubs i.e. underdogs. people moaning saying tuchel will want to play a different way to the way we are playing and go for someone tested
do you not realise we are in the position we are in because of the way we play lollol
Champions League QF with a team half full of teenagers, first ever manager to take Mainz into Europe through league placing, won a major trophy. But yeah Dyche is better. You aren't wrong, but I don't see Tuchel being anymore certain to succeed than the likes of Dyche or Howe. His record so far doesn't show any great potential.
Just another sexy foreign name and some trendy new guff for the fans to be blinded by.
Blanc would be next level to all these (if we could get him)
At Palace he had Benteke who banged in 15 goals to help them out of trouble....I agree about the target man thing, as even at Bolton he had Kevin Davies playing that role. But he does get the best out of players, so for me he has to be considered just for that reason alone.
To be fair I’d be more comfortable with Dyche in a relegation fight, which we are currently in. But I’d back Tuchel to take us to the next level, which Martinez initially flirted with. You aren't wrong, but I don't see Tuchel being anymore certain to succeed than the likes of Dyche or Howe.
