Player Valuation: £40m
As Portsmouth football club make 85 people redundant, yet 1 player earns more than all those peoples wages combined.

It is terrible that thos people have lost their jobs, but it isn't the players fault they have lost them nor is it their fault they make the money they do
make a player redundant, or are they immune from such realities ?

I've yet to see the "SKY SPORTS BREAKING NEWS: Tea Lady transfers from Portsmouth to Everton for £10million"
Or "Kit man in switch shocker" headlines.....

Don't you think players have been partly responsible for their huge wages?
Ask Kaka will he come and play for Everton for £300 per week and see what he says.
Not in the slightest. If they sit down with Pompey officials and talk contracts and what they want in wages and the people that run Pompey are stupid enough to give it too them knowing they havent realy got that money to pay them then it is their fault - not the players.
If Pompey turned round and didn't offer the wages they do they wouldnt be in the mess they are - see Utaka for further evidence
I don't agree, but it's not a problem.
Everton boss Moyes labels Portsmouth and West Ham as a 'danger to football' | Mail Online
Everton boss David Moyes has described the transfer policies adopted by West Ham and Portsmouth as 'a danger to football'.
All the attention may be on Kaka's potential £100million-plus move to Manchester City, but Moyes believes it is clubs offering big wages that have upset the balance of the market.
'I think what happened at Portsmouth and West Ham in recent times was a danger to football.
'They bought players and gave them big wages. That made it difficult for clubs like Everton because we would try to get similar players but they blew us out with higher wages, far more than Everton could afford.
'It upset the whole market. Now they are backing off and selling players because they paid them higher wages than maybe they should have.
In truth, the people who went into those clubs are now either one down, or bankrupt, or can't afford to pay the wages.
'Now Portsmouth might say, 'We had our day in the sun. We won the FA Cup and we don't really care'.
'But I think those sort of clubs are the ones which have disrupted the wages in the Premier League,' he told the Sunday Express.
Exactly what i mean. Why should the players feel bad for earning money, no matter how much it is
Because 85 staff have been given the axe?
Because people in the world are starving?
Because fans pay through the nose to watch them whilst earning modest wages?
It's over the top earnings, and I can't think of one point to justify it despite your attempts.
