Bloody hell. I don’t even know the man but that was like a sledgehammer to the gut.
His son has spoken beautifully about him through all of this. Ultimately, that kind of legacy - bringing up our next generation with that much love, kindness and compassion - is all we can hope to leave behind. Rest easy @ToffeeDan

Whether here or twitter or way back on the Guardian comment section he was always a decent sort, mad about this dumb club and always seeing the humorous side of it even in the many bad days.
Horrible news that. I hope the family find the strength to get through this difficult period and comfort that he is free from pain.
From Yanndalf's beautiful and emotional poem you can really tell how their bond was so special and to have a son that thinks of you in that way is surely a life well lived. I'd take a bet he felt blessed during his passing even though he was taken too soon. RIP @ToffeeDan
