I know many innocent people get attacked etc, but can't help thinking people don't help themselves.

step forward the excuse of so many that carry knives.
 
Perhaps I should add that I firmly believe that we all have an equal duty of care towards each other, carrying a knife as a means of self-defence does not wash in my view, nor does any act of violence towards any other person.
 
This has happened.

And now today, my Grandad got taken into hospital after having a heart attack.

A poor couple of days.

How do you feel about organ harvesting? take the organs the murderer doesn't want and transplant into needy people like children needing transplants. It would mean some good could come from the murderers life and that in effect lives could be saved.

The two eyes bit comes from wanting rapists and paedophiles and [Poor language removed] that run northern rock into the ground then get a £2million payoff for the mess they made to suffer.

Of the seven deadlies, vengeance is definitely my vice.

Hopefully not a full blown super serious one that leads to complications. Hospital is the best place for him, and hopefully it means he engages a lifestyle change that leads to the better.

He's 76, and actually quite fit for his age. But he's always had problems with his heart.

He seems alright now i think.

One of my friends was walking down to Dale St after a night in Dr. Duncs and 2 lads were running toward him. He moved to one side and the 2nd of the lads as he went past slashed my mate down his arm from elbow to wrist with a stanley knife. They never even stopped running and my mate never realised it for about 30 seconds or so(he WAS bladdered). They were never caught.

Look for CCTV mate. That's the key, but invevitably you won't get the tapes, the machine is always the 'broken one'.

that is really shocking. i have spent countless nights out in souey and even a few years back it was really rough. you really had to keep your wits about you. after being away for so long i think i've gone soft. it is not second nature anymore to check who is walking behind when i'm a few beers in. mcbain will agree, korea is a drinking haven for trouble free nights.. so long as you avoid the US army bases~! (sorry tx and the boys..)

i agree with reidy about the real ale. chemical lager should be banned because it is so horrible.. a few jars of champion ale will see the country right.

i've been in a couple of scrapes.

i was once sitting on a bench eating a kfc after a night out with my mate and these 3 lads came over intent on trouble. my mate has a way with words and managed to talk them round but it took 20 minutes!

i've also had to step in to stop one of my mates getting a beating off some hoodies and ended up with a broken nose and chipped tooth for my trouble. luckily it was a case of you should see the other guy.. but spending a night in casualty is a poor way to round the evening off. i'm happy to be away from it all.

My thoughts are with you and your family Cal, this doesnt bode well for my trip to Liverpool next year....
