Its a loyalty thing isnt it, like a Season Ticket, you commit to the scheme, so you should get first dibs. Theres only 500 tickets, surely its just easier to throw everybody in a lottery. I mean, say there were 1500 people all in the travel scheme, all ST holders and all havent missed a game all last season, do you check the next season? Then the next?

No way is going to be 100% fair and lotterys are fun, when you win. :D

they have to have been registered in the euro away travel scheme though to be in the ballot, joining up was suspended immediately after the draw and still is, so if they haven't already joined then they cant be in the ballot. thats how i understood it anyway.

Yeah, but you could have joined the European club for free ages ago, I don't think that will have stopped many people. They're either giving as much priority to people who go to most aways as someone who's decided to go to the 1st home league game (could be their 1st match) or they're telling people to apply for a ticket they've got no chance of getting. Either way, I think they're wrong for doing so

So you think it's right that Season Ticket holders who didn't miss a match last season have an equal chance of getting a ticket as someone who's just bought their 1st season ticket?

Yes mate. ST holder is a ST holder, same question back, is a 45 year old who has had a ST for 20 years, more deserving than a 20 year old who has had a ST for 10?

Yes he is

Imagine it was you: Last year you bought a season ticket then spent near enough every weekend travelling to games from Newcastle & Sunderland on Sundays to Portsmouth - for which you had to leave at about 5 in the morning for a 12:45 kick off - watching your booze intake on Christmas because you're leaving for Boro early on boxing day & spending a fortune on travel etc, all the while you could have been earning money or spending your time & money on your family etc. Then in April you renew your season ticket & start looking forward to heading to every game next season too but when the European ticket applications are announced you find out that you've got as much priority to 1 who's got a season ticket, regardless of how many games you went to last year & you think that's right?

:( I suppose watching it in a bar in Olomouc will be just as fun.

I can't even apply for a fooking ticket.

when the semi tickets were out last season i wasnt a s.t. holder but i had payed for this season, i wasn't allowed to apply so it stands to reason that s.t. entitlement is only based on the current season, this is where the points thing will come in as next season will be based on points accumulated in this campaign for the earlier games.

i agree though that if you went to every game and are a current s.t. holder then you should be somewhere up the queue, they have everything on computer so it's just a case of collating everything and seeing who is the most entitled.
this lottery thing will hopefully become a thing of the past.

The club couldn't handle 40,000 applications coming in for 25,000 tickets, I guarantee they still wont be able to handle about 10,000 applications coming in for 500 tickets.

If they don't sell out their allocation - I'll be fumin'!

Apparently their fans are really excited by it, they'll sell their allocation but I hope they don't because it means there's more chance of them being available outside the ground for those travelling without a ticket

Just been told there's only 75 tickets going to ballot one - And there's at least 330 Thomas Cooke travel supporters; and considering they get priority - Not a chance. Ah well.

We get to Olomouc from Prague early so where going to go down the ground and see about going in there end - if needs be. Hate the English apparently. I'm taking a 'kin sword.
