No actually, that's too much of a generalisation. I know he was good for USA in the WC but we want excellence week in week out, not on occasional national duty.

I appreciate that he has done a really good job over the years, but for whatever reason, Joel has performed better when given the chance. Why not play your best player in the relevant position?

We appreciated his efforts since 2005, but he's having a run of bad form which is quite possibly knocking his confidence and perpetuating the problem - what should we do? Lie and say "it's ok Tim, play anyway even though you're costing us goals"? Not for me mate, not for someone who was brought up watching 'the best goalie in the world TM' Neville Southall.

Saying someone is not up to the job at this present time is not under-appreciating them.
