Wonder why no club has yet to actually try overturn FFP in court?

I doubt monday changes much but would like us to spend alot and if sanctioned take them to court ala bosman ruling.

I think that clubs accept there is consent to make rules work. It relies upon UEFA behaving appropriately though, which they haven't regarding City, it's been a complete witch hunt.

Exactly break it this year and if needs be next summer sell 1-2 good players to balance the books if needs be to compensate or get Uz to give us another dodgy sponsorship deal.
Fairly sure PSG, Madrid, Barca and City break it literally every window, so we might as well to be fair. Only thing is, you know if we do it we will the get biggest, heaviest book on the planet thrown at us

As I said in the Brands thread, this City ruling is going to be key. If it goes their way then there’s nothing to stop us, if it doesn’t then take whatever punishment and just do it

We won't be breaking FFP, you can get loans to counteract it, bizarrely you can put your club in massive debt by borrowing as United have done. I'd imagine if we are close to breaking the rules Uzzy will loan is a hundred million with a few million a year pay back over many many years.

Is this right? I am no FFP expert but is taking a loan out seen as income for that year (that can therefore be legally spent) and the proportion paid back per year as a cost for each subsequent year?

Clearly not a sustainable model unless you are one of the mega revenue generator clubs and need a reset but an interesting loophole if it is allowed.

United are half a billion in debt, and have never come close to breaking the rules. Their loans aren't even from the bank or investment groups it's their owners. If uzzy gives us a loan of 100 million and wants 5 million a year back then the hundred million goes on this year's income but 5 million a year in future years will be expenditure.
I'd imagine if it's all above board and known to UEFA then it won't be an issue..

You cant really compare United to most clubs, the money they generate is just silly, that's why they never come close to breaking rules.

FFP is a calculation based on income and outgoings. A loan does not increase a Clubs income. A loan improves cash flow but does nothing for profit and loss. FFP is based on profit and loss.

FFP has nothing to do with debt. United are in debt because the Glazers leveraged the acquisition costs of buying United on to the Football Club. FFP is about Clubs not making financial losses. It is about not spending more than you earn.

Moshiri has already lent us £350m unfortunately those loans make absolutely no difference to our income. If you earn £25,000 per year and take out a £100k loan your income does not jump to £125k a year.

It’s like the last few years hasn’t happened.

Yes, let’s just spend loads of money. That has never gone wrong with us.
