Hard to say really.

When a lot of the yachts I manage go to the Med/Caribbean they go into charter for the weeks when the owner isn't around. The rules and regs regarding the build standard of the vessel, the crew qualifications and the servicibility of the safety equipment on board is pretty robust.

I think the fact that these 'passengers' are actually described as staff carrying out scientific research rather than fare paying passengers removes some of the liability. Saying that, the vessel should comply with health a safety regs of the country where the mother ship is flagged. (though the sub is probably classed as 'experimental' so again, not as strict.)
 
If I was in the sub with 4 other people with the air running out then I reckon I’d start to take out the others. Now if the others have the same idea then my guess is that there’s a massive scrap going on inside the sub.

Be interesting to see how Many are left if they do actually succeed in locating it and bringing it to the surface.

FWIW I reckon that French diver onboard is a real animal who is well tooled up
 

What an awful way to die if they aint saved sat knowing you're slowly dying underwater.

Hopefully they can get picked up in time but doesn't look likely.

Well now you put it like that...also Putin hadn't invaded Ukrane before being vaccinated and interest rates were far lower. Damn those vaccines!!!

Tricky, by having a scrap it might use up the same amount of oxygen in one go that you hoped to save. Then you've got the smell of the corpses as well as Celine Dion to cope with. Obviously not quite as bad as listening to that song on repeat but the smell on top might push you to your very limit.
