I'm not sure how predicting a relegation battle in a season where we survived on the final day, and were 1 goal away from relegation, was a controversial opinion. Yes it was way back last summer, but I said what I thought would happen based on the squad of players we had available.

But it doesn't matter now because we live to fight another day. We need to make the most of this opportunity and start making better decisions in recruitment.

Yes I did think we would go down at points during the winter, and then after Fulham. But thankfully I was wrong.

I was right with my initial prediction that this was a survival season and 17th was success.

I give credit to the manager for completing the job he was brought here to do. I've criticised him at times but he has earned the right to try to build something next year.

21 from 18 is a good return with these players. I'm not a fan a fan of his football but the numbers speak for themselves. I'm not going to argue against them.
