If you need to draw vertical lines on the pitch to know if there’s an offside or not then benefit of the doubt should go to the attacking side, simple.

The people controlling VAR should do a 'naked eye test' first - if they think it definitely is off, then draw the line to confirm it. If they aren't sure, go back to the game.

Would make the system 10x more effective.

The wording of 'clear and obvious' error would suggest that was the original case, but the horrible precedent that's been set by officials has put us into this mess.

Hopefully, the correct authorities will take the relevant action and this farce (that's what it is!) we are saying each and every week is sent to the bin.

Wonder what he said as Southampton haven't done anything wrong here
No idea. Spurs are playing pretty darn awfully, with hardly any chances and struggling to put a pass together, so I suspect that will be annoying him a fair bit.

Yet, like you said, there hasn't been anything reported of where they've overtly antagonised him, so I am curious what he will say in his post match interview.

Kane being crocked won't have helped either.

Jose went over to the bench and looked at a replay on their iPad.
Saints didn't complain but Dean booked him anyway.

Southampton looked dead and buried and in free fall a month or so back. Great recovery from them. Very tight down the bottom, might take more than 40 points to stay up this season.
