That’s the first contact Kieran as you clearly know. The referee allows the advantage at that point but the contact continues in to the box until the referee rightfully decides that’s still a foul but it’s in the box now so I’ll give them the penalty.

Obviously if you post a still where the Shrewsbury player is just entering the box and there’s no contact whatsoever then you’ll be right.

I know as a die hard Evertonian you’ll be going through your recorded Shrewsbury v Liverpool game to try and find this however I’ll have to assume the penalty point is proven if said evidence isn’t forthcoming.

No doubt the Shrewsbury players and fans got the usual patronising round of applause off the 'wonderful and fair minded' Kop at the end. Always reserved for whenever they beat a lower league club at home.

Utter joke one leg has VAR and one does not. How is that consistent.
I think they’ve made a real pigs ear of offside.

For me, to be offside there has to be distance, ie.a gap between the two players. So half your body being off, is still onside. This leaves far greater scope for getting it right. Getting out a measuring line to see what part of the body is off is nonsense. The margin for error is tiny, and it’s wide open to interpretation. It also takes longer.

I hope so, they’ll get absolutely pummelled by Chelsea.

They’re not even any good, nor are they kids.

They’ve been bang average for years at there own level. I know Accrington players who played against them earlier in the league cup this year when Accrington put 5 past them. They said they were really bad.

Even in this cup run they’ve barely threatened. Let’s be honest, we were terrible on the day but we should have been 5 up by half time whilst they never created a chance all game bar from the wonder goal out of nothing.

They’ve barely had a shot against Shrewsbury in both games, despite them struggling even at there own level right now and it took 2 unforced own goals to get them through.

Villa’s reserves marmalised then.

Chelsea will give them a really good hiding. They should have beat there first 11 earlier in the year until VAR stepped in to save them yet again. That’s another subject as well as the corruption this year has been ridiculous.

The regimes desperation to get Liverpool, 1 of there cash cows, relevant again domestically has been massively over done by them and this season will long be remembered for that.
95% of them you won’t hear from again, which makes losing to them all the more galling. Being outplayed in midfield in the second half by Chiri (something) was disgraceful. I allowed myself to watch that game (can’t recall the last time I watched a derby live, possibly as far back as the 2012 semi when that Geordie yard dog scored) as I thought we had a good chance of winning. Ancelotti won’t have had a more humiliating defeat.
