That has nothing to do with this incident though.

Refs can’t take previous incidents into account when they make a decision.

They aren’t stood there thinking, “Well Jon Moss didn’t give a pen for that tackle on Deeney and there was more contact on that one than this, so I can’t really give a pen here....”

Consistency is the key to fair officiating so yes it does matter.

We need to see clear and consistent decision making going forward.

I'm just not sure that's much contact. The ref said no pen. To me that should stay on field because its borderline.
