Their last truly convincing win was 4-0 against Southampton on Feb 1st, in the 8 games since their kids struggled to see of Shrewsbury, the first team only just beat struggling Norwich, lost in Madrid, had to come back from 1-2 down v Moyes’ West Ham, lost the unbeaten league record in style at Watford, got comfortably beaten in the cup at Chelsea, survived a scare to beat Bournemouth and lost tonight after being 2-0 up in extra time

Are they finally showing some wear and tear?

Anyone would think the effects of something being taken was wearing off, can apparently happen after prolonged use!

The crying on BBC about the way athletico play over both games was utterly pathetic. They've scored 4 goals in this tie, this wasn't exactly benitez winning ties 1-0 and 0-0 which they didn't moan about back then. Probably the most boring team in CL history.

The revisionism over Benitez and Houllier is astounding. Terrible football from both of them.

The only explanation I can rationally think of is they import their PEDs from China and stocks are running low so the buck toothed gobshite is watering them down to make them last

I just can't see any way this season's European competitions run to completion tbh although the bosses at EUFA seem too be breaking records for stupidity and greed atm.

Despite Arsenal vs City being called off due to Olympiakos' owner having Covid19, they've ignored club and premier league appeals for Wolves' Europa league fixture to be called off. Meanwhile it's left to the individual associations and clubs to decide a closed doors policy or to appeal against playing at all. There is no leadership, hard decisions, responsibility or guidance given by the administrators at the top running the competitions.

It's like the bad old days of Michel Platini when with money the primary motivation, policies were made on the hoof with vested interests paramount above common sense. Mr Corruption set the tone but following this precedent could now cost lives.
Nail on the head

Indeed arrogance. And Klipity klop is back feeding them all, the result its not right, they did not play proper football. Be magnanimous in defeat crybabies.

Shows just how poor the prem is.

Disagree with this, we've just had 4 English sides contesting the Champions League final and the Europa League final? As far as I can remember, that's about as good as it gets and doesn't happen to often.

If you include United winning it a couple of years ago, City reaching the latter stages of the CL the year before and Liverpool getting to another final too. Plus Wolves making a good stick of it this year in European competition too.

Prem is stronger than ever.
