Should have meant City had better match fitness levels... And it's not like the Premier league schedule was overly demanding on them, it was ideal preparation for the Champions league games...
After a 3 month break, it was harder for French and German teams to return for a few games then break again for a few weeks, and then be on their top form for the CL...

City are set up poorly as a team, that's the managers fault as he has no clue of the defensive side of football

But the two leagues with the longest breaks saw their teams through to the semis.
