The issue isn't so much wanting Silva as to acknowledging that the options to take over right now are probably not improvements and are almost certainly not people we would want in charge long term. 8 months of Big Sam set us back two more years.

Who's to blame for that?

Moshiri hires them

Moshiri fires them

If he had an ounce of ambition he would punt Silva and throw massive money at a half decent manager with the promise of a war chest next summer to revamp the squad.

You can only blame previous managers for so long.

Under Koeman it was "cleaning up Martinez's mess"

Under Alladyce it was "cleaning up under Koemageddon"

Now its "Allardyce has put us back years"

Maybe blame the clown owner hiring dud after dud.

See the one thing that isn't changing is the owner because he isn't going to fire himself ya know?

But even then wanting Moshiri out when prior to him we were spending a quarter of what we do now and being run like a bunch of amateurs on the commercial side. Owning a team takes practice just like any other role. He's brought Brands in to run things on the football side and although we should have waited on hiring a manager originally until he took charge, he is here now and he will pick the next man.

Just 2 years? Takes look at what's happened since the prem started. Sweet FA that's what. 1 Cup win. Thanks EFC board for lowering our expectations so well

I agree Brands picks the next fella - however not sacking Silva because our options are more limited is daft - Liverpool got Klopp mid season Leicester got Rodgers etc

Ok that's fine if we have someone lined up that will join immediately then do it. But Klopp was out of a job and Rodgers (also lol they're heading toward a poor run of results) was wasting time pissing the league with Celtic. I don't know who exactly we could convince to join on short notice midway through a season that would also be a long term person for the role.

What's the point of having a DoF and firing the manager over his head? I think you'll find that Marcel Brands is neither a knee-jerker nor a bed-wetter, and he realises that it's too early in the season to think about a change of manager. He's fired Koeman in the past so he obviously knows when to act.

Mourinho, Allegri and Garcia are out of work

Mancini is a national manager

Ten Hag, Benitez and Biesla are managing but would be tempted

There the managers I wouldn't mind but you see my point there are managers out there it comes down to the ambition of the board and what promises financially they can offer to tie them up

Which Garcia? Other two aren't happening. Mancini is managing Italy so good luck. Bielsa and Ten Hag wouldn't and seriously Benitez. It's not so easy to do midseason.

So Biesla wouldn't leave the championship and treble his wages for Everton?

Ten Hag wouldn't leave the dutch farmers league who are flogging all his best players?

National management is a joke - Martinez and Koeman manage 2 of the biggest nation sides in the world on the back of failing at us - he would sack them off in a shot.

Its why I never mention managers when asked because no matter what people will always say " you'll never get him" or "he'll never come here"

I never thought Rafael would go to Newcastle

Or Klopp to Liverpool

Or Rodgers to Celtic

Or Biesla to championship Leeds

If football was that simple/certain Leicester would never have won the league.

Imagine thinking Ajax are a bunch of farmers. I'm done here.

Think you misread - they are a good team in a farmer league same as Celtic.

He would treble his wages moving to the prem and will have taken Ajax as far as they can - they'll have lost near enough their entire CL starting 11 within these next 2 seasons and he knows it.
