I've just driven home listening to radio 5.
It was indeed vomit inducing.

Funniest bit was interviewing a red who was talking about today's traffic carnage due to mass power cuts.
They assumed he's travelled miles.
He then goes and says " I just got in me car and drove through the Wallasey tunnel, the tunnel was busy though !"

And this all stems from growing up as a child and every team and individual competing in competitions winning trophies/medals; no matter if you win or come last. There is no 1st and striving to be the best. Its the taking part that counts.

All that flows over into professional sports. He is right because here in the U.S across all the major sports, the aim seems to be to make the playoffs. That is considered a successful year.
