Liverpool went out of both domestic cups early last season which may have helped their players keep focused, fit and ready for the twin assault on the two far more important trophies later in the season.

The youngsters are trying to make an impression and further their careers but the team selection for these sides with far more important aims says it all.

Klopp is the only manager in the league who doesn’t attract a word of criticism despite him treating the cups with disdain. Wenger won the FA cup more than anyone and was repeatedly getting blasted in the media for disrespecting the competitions.
