I don't think Godfrey has the passing ability to play there. I know Holgate doesn't. Unless we are going long balls all the time.

I think Holgate is quite a decent passer myself, and I don't think you need to be a spectacular passer playing that role, especially when playing in a 3 man midfield.

They aren't even good. They just pace and ability to finish.

TBH I dont see us making Europe this season. That'll be a blow. But I think Chelsea and Spurs are beginning to get themselves together again. Arsenal will always get a late run together and United will be top 4 contenders for sure.

Yeah I'm just trying to convince myself mate, but then I look at the games we've dropped points in and then look at our next run of games and it all starts looking a tad meh.

Right, we have exactly seven players that have tallied in the Prem, and our assists leader is out.

The front three can all score, but the back four have literally chipped in more than the midfielders, which should never happen. What we're missing as a threat is a scoring, box-to-box midfielder in the Lampard/Gerrard vein to stretch the defense and notch some goals.

We also need passes coming from the wings, but both of those creative forces are out.

When he played there before we made a point of not building up through the midfield. I think he's fine as a CB, but even a simple role in midfield is different. I don't think he has the technique.

I look at this team and I dont see pace. That is a concern. At the moment I need some convincing that what's going on is progress.

You win 3 games on the bounce, you're in European places or the top 4. Problem is that usually is the RS and City that are constant while everyone else isnt.

You don't have to be a good team in the league, just a consistent one.

The best managers make consistent teams though.

The players that cant provide consistency are bombed out the side - whereas we give ours the captains armband (Siggurdsson) and change a winning system to try accomodate them somewhere (Iwobi) (Davies)

I mentioned in here a few weeks back Liverpool can have 5-6 first teamers out yet still tonk a good team like Leicester because every player be it £50 million signing or academy kid runs through brick walls for Klopp as they are terrified of being bombed out the club by him if they dont.

The mentality stinks at Everton and has done since Moyes left (and it wasnt the greatest even then).
