It is one of an actual sequence of a real event, is it not...?
Yes and still pictures are manipulated to carry the story or agenda they want by the source every single day.

I wanted to explain this better but I'm struggling to type it out coherently so I'm just leaving it there

The only way a still picture is manipulated is by way of Photoshop or some other programme. Are you saying that is what has been done with the still that was posted up earlier? That Pereira's legs, feet and boots have been manipulated into the position in the still picture? Do me a favour...

What about Fred’s headbutt midweek? Yellow?
Headbutts are largely accepted as a no-no because it actually has intent. Even if only 'pushing' with your head it's a very clear sign of intimidation and anger from one to another. We've seen richy sent off for it and such, it's a clear as day rule that can't really be challenged?

In the case we began talking about the player being charged with a red is literally on his back on the floor. It's completely different scenario. And one where I still don't see any malice.

Wow you really aren't understanding this.

Imagine a video of goodison half full of fans. Panning over the stadium. I could take a still from the empty part and plod a narrative that the grounds are empty.

Edit : on top of that, angles. Most pictures of cities are like oh look no social distance disgusting!! But actually if you were taking a picture from a realistic angle, you'd see everyone is clearly stood far away from each other. It's just our depth perception from a photographic still.

But the modern day rule is a kick out = red card. He might not have wanted to hurt anyone but he's still intentionally kicked his legs out when he had no reason to hence red card. Referee and VAR also agreed so that's that.

Like what did you make of Robertson's on Allan in the last derby?

I am understanding this, totally.

Apples and oranges, mate, with your comparison to panning around a ground. Stupid comparison, and not relevant or associated in any way whatsoever.

We're talking a deliberate kick-out at an opponent. No more, no less.

I actually didn't see the Robertson one mate. I had to work for that Derby, had just followed on my phone.

I understand that, but I think here the key words being kicked out is harsh. If I had my legs tucked towards my belly, they'd naturally be wanting to push outwards anyway unless I was holding them in that unnatural position. It doesn't look malicious to me, even if soft - as to me itdidnt look like he went out of his way to do it.

No, you're saying that the only way a still could carry an different narrative is if it involved photoshop.

I'm telling you that is not the case, and I could make any video give the narrative I want by choosing the still you want.

No they wouldn't you'd just carry on rolling to the side like any normal player would and does 100 times every game lol

Pretty sure you did see his kick out too.

Robertson is a weasel

You know full well that had we signed either they’d have flopped hard, especially if we’d have gave Palace the £80m they wanted for Zaha last season and the £150k wages he would have asked for

Zaha would have fit us like a glove - put him in the side when Richarlison was suspended and we beat atleast Newcastle and are still in the top 4.

We as a club are terrified of rolling the dice and its why we never actually do anything.

Would rather we break FFP and take a fine than be good little boys and finish 8th-12th every season with a pat on the head and the season largely over by Christmas.

The Robertson weasel comment was just a natural one. I remember people making comments about his snarkyness and I contributed because, he is, a weasel.

The player in question wasn't rolling around or to his side though? He was flat on his back

Apologies realised this was the same game of the hendo vs Allan tackle. I thought you meant the previous Derby to that. I can only remember hendos and the pickford, vvd and richy ones.

That said, the Robertson weasel comment still stands.

The weasel comment you made was the exact moment he did the kick out so you're just weirdly deflecting from the question now. They're all kick outs, they're all red cards in modern football. You might not like the words "kick out" but just like not all headbutts are headbutts they're still all reds.
