I think it is hard to say who is more important when they both seemingly play every game. I'd default to the guy who makes more goals happen because of it. People don't because of some silly reasons imo. I remember someone saying Mane scored more important goals however you determine that.Just people confusing "more important" with "better".
Like Lee Carsley was arguably our most important player for a few years, but he was never our best player.
When's the pen then?
I've said my piece on the event and no amount of agonising over semantics change the law.He did not receive it from an opponent he took it from an opponent.
I reckon this needs its own thread,, but would be pointless because there are two camps not silling to budge.
You seem to be mixing a few things here. On the one hand you say a new phase begins once mings touches the ball. If that is the case the position of the fullback is irrelevant because you can't be offside when the ball is played by an opponent.
it is hard for me to understand how one can have the view mings was not closed down when. Rodri is miles away when the ball is sent to mings and on him before the ball hits the ground.
I suppose one could argue in good faith that closing down does not constitute interfering with play in the same way that being in the line of sight of the goalkeeper does, but i would suggest that it does. Evidence? This goal.
