Seagulls deserved at least a point, but if you don't take you're chances then crap like that happens, shocking from the ref near the end with the extra mins.

Result is papering over some grand canyon sized cracks for utd tho - defensively awful.

Hopefully Brighton won't recover next week.

Absolute fluke that they won but Maupay cost Brighton, not the referee

This. We would all be raging if it was us in United’s shoes and the ref just finished the game without consulting VAR. United don’t look great though. Brighton look like they will be a tricky team to play as well.

This referee is a disgusting cheat.

There was five minutes added on. He allowed United to take up one whole minute on the Martial substitute. He was giving goal kicks instead of corners, and now he blows the final whistle and then reverses it and gives United a second penalty. As corrupt as it gets, disgraceful.

At least it's not Everton having final whistle decisions changed after the fact.

But there we go, as usual for United - two games, two penalties.
League is fixed.
The were playing United, so extra time is determined by the need of United to get a goal.
If they score in the 95th minute, with 5 mins added. The ref would blow up straight away.

Brighton had 4 or 5 off the woodwork which could have put them on 6 or 7 goals + de gea saves + skied shots.

Only have themselves to blame + the handball and soft first goal.

Having said that, the ref was definitely on uniteds side in the 2nd half. How do you miss corners or free kicks like that?

Also the 7mins added time?!?!?!
