You think the handball rule would change if VAR wasn't in place? It's a new change designed to be caught and reviewed under VAR.

If VAR wasn't in place, most of those handballs wouldn't have been given as penalties.
The rules change every season. Handball has been in the rules of the game probably since the game existed. There is nothing in the handball rule that necessitates a VAR review. A handball can very readily be seen by a ref when it happens. VAR just gives them the opportunity to check their decision.
It doesn't matter what the handball rules are, VAR will always help refs check what happened.

The punishment is far too great for the offence, or lack of offence.

I'd rather we gave every single handball or only the 5-10% that are blatantly deliberate

Anywhere in between and you have an unworkable and inconsistent system like we are seeing.
The punishment is fine. It's far too easy to defend the penalty area already so something making it slightly harder is fine. Defenders will learn and we will in time get more penalties given for handballs than before but less than are currently happen. That's a good thing.

The hammers coming into form just in time to play us - typical, although tbf they were unlucky to lose to Arsenal.

No way will West Ham be going down imo even if they may well be in real trouble at the bottom following their nightmare schedule coming up. Moyes, who put the plans in place from his sofa, has them playing some good stuff so far bar the Newcastle game.

They play at Leicester next weekend, I don't think that's a foregone conclusion either.

Maybe David's finally discovered his best method of management, stay away.

:D

Wolves were worse than just bad, all their old inability to break down well organised defences were shown up to the full, (they did well vs City but then City haven't got a defence), and totally blown apart when under pressure via quick counter attacks or even something more sustained. Last night we found out why Wolves aren't good enough to make the next step unless it's two steps backwards.

Bournemouth is the worst thing to ever happen to the premier league. Gave the RS tonnes of cash for turbocrap players, nearly got Eddie Howe in charge of us and now put another turbocrap player in the Man City defence for over 40m!

you just know we'll scoop up one of their crap players on deadline day for one last dagger.
