You do realise that fanatically supporting a football is the mirror nationalism. You blindly support them no matter whatever the philosophy , you automatically see other teams as enemy’s and occasionally allies. Your whole identity is connected to your association to a club that you have no control over. You could argue that football is a microcosm that justifies divisions within the country. If it’s ok to hate other fans, then what about other political beliefs, other races, other genders, other religion.
Alternatively, it’s just football and wanting England to win is a sign that you are quite normal because you were born English, and it makes sence to want them to do well. good to support them with you mates that might support other clubs teams. No different to wanting team gb to do well in the olympics.

Martinez hasn't done too bad with Belgium tbf, although I'd argue Southgate has done better with England considering that the Belgium talent pool is superior to the English one

Not necessarily. Without Brazil and Argentina the World Cup would be easier than euros. Less top nations from Europe more world minnows.
