Haven't replaced the quality of Silva yet...haven't replaced Kompany at the back...add to that Fernandinho is getting on, and is injured more than he's not these days, he was superb a few years ago at protecting their backline...

This is not the same City team as 2-3 years ago
They haven't had someone to properly shield the backline aside from Fernandinho since Toure started getting on. Rodri isn't it. Gundogan definitely not.

Saying it was deemed accidental handball.....
I thought there was no such thing this season?

All about the camera angle, the foreshortening of distance and when it's taken which gives that illusion, it's clear he didn't handle the ball at all.

West Ham though did have cause for complaint when s penalty wasn't given.

Var favoured City

Peter Walton just said we don’t want to be ‘forensically analysing the game’ when he was doing just that last week for any reason for us not to have got anything from that game and to have Pickford sent offlol

I’ve just watched Football Focus, and unless I missed it we didn’t get a mention, top of the league and not a mention. Taking under the radar to a new level.

Honestly don't think they know what to make of us. So they ignore Everton, for now.

We are not one of the SKY darlings, but have the manager, squad and historical clout, to hang around at the top. And they know it too.

So many weird results already. Keeping consistent is going to be huge this year - European games going to potentially cause havoc with lots of contenders too.

Hopefully. Klopp was already moaning about players being tired due to the Ajax pitch on Wednesday. If City and Liverpool slip up consistently it’s anyone’s league.

Even if City come back and win this, they will not win the title, they’ve been in decline for a couple of years, lost top players like Kompany, Sane and Silva and not replaced them adequately. Pep has never been at a club this long, it has gone stale, the energy isn’t there, they will still blow some teams away this season, but they were miles off the title last season, and can you honestly say this City side is better than last season’s City side?
