It's better if they stay in for some more midweek games come spring. That squad that started today will struggle which means more tiring of the key players.

It's better if they stay in for some more midweek games come spring. That squad that started today will struggle which means more tiring of the key players.

Mourinho said he blames himself for picking this team, they played as if they were complete strangers to each other. Ali, Bergwijn Vinicius, Celso, Winks and even Bale did little to further their claims, although Bale possibly just needs more time having not played for so long.

The defence was stronger but he said he wished it could have been all eleven changed at half time.

There's absolutely no danger of them not going through as two go through anyway but almost certainly they'll top the group, although he'll have to play a stronger side at home in the return fixture.
