The way City develop and bring their younger players through puts us to shame

They don’t even need to do it this well with all their money but they still do it anyway

Their supporters are generally great with the younger players as well and really take pride in it

Mad they can get this right so often and we can’t

Who do you think we've let down as supporters Mikey as I always think you come across as thinking Everton youngsters don't get given a fair crack of the whip due to the Everton support not showing patience.

I can guarantee the likes of Foden and Palmer would be given all the time in the world and do you know why? Because they've been coached properly and are quality on the ball. The latest one from Everton who has anything like the same quality where he's comfortable on the ball is Gordon and I feel everyone is willing the kid on, he even mentions the vocal support he gets.

Look at some of the crap DCL had to deal with, despite showing promise

Even now there are still some desperate for his form to dip so they can kill him

It’ll happen with Gordon too. Just wait

But he's professional enough to know its not personal, believed in his own ability, stuck at it and he's desire, determination and ability has come through.

Go back to when he was playing under Silva, you'll find me pulling my hair out as he didn't want to be in the box, he was a striker who was afraid to miss. Ancelotti simplified his game by basically saying "GET IN THE BOX", mentioned Inzaghe (which when you look at both of their physiques was a very strange comparison) yet the only thing people moan at DCL for now is that he's a tap in merchant lol

Goals breed confidence, he started to believe in himself and for me personally, is our most valuable player. Ancelotti ( & Ferguson ) worked on his game and he's come on leaps and bounds.

Whether a player comes through the ranks or not, if they dont show their worth then they'll get binned. You get limited opportunities at PL level so you've got to show it when the chance arises (Gordon doing exactly that currently)

A percentage of people are like that. All clubs have them- less prominent when your winning trophies playing exquisite football though.

Happens all the time, pathetic.

Fans moan when players turn on the club, but they are just as fast/faster to turn on young players after a few bad games.

Makes me sick when we seen homegrown kids getting slated, if they are giving their all.

Poor Swindon they hear a PL team gets hit by Covid and they think we might have a chance here.

Then they see the 11 on the pitch from the Covid hit PL who put out a team with a combined £420 million in transfer fees.

Magic of the cup these days huh.

7 homegrown players in the matchday squad.

On the basis that 'Der Red Men' have been on a hell-bent mission to save the FA Cup since Klopp has been in charge, presumably you'll be happy if your u23 team gets an outing to give Shrewsbury a chance?

We all know what you're about - if City play a strong side at Swindon then life's not fair. If we play the kids then we're disrespecting the cup and the opposition. If we win whilst playing kids then life's not fair because kids winning demonstrates a footballing apartheid.

In other words, grow up.
