Knowing your luck, Brighton would end up getting an even better manager and would continue to strengthen themselves as a PL mainstay

I've wondered if Silva regretted leaving his project at Watford for ours, benefit of hindsight and all that, moving to a bigger club isn't always a good idea, as Moyes found out himself once for example.
For Potter to move here would be such a bad idea i would actually question his sanity and come to the conclusion he isn't clued up enough on the modern game because anyone with sense would stay at Brighton

A lot to be said for the environment in which a manager works. Brighton have a good set-up around the manager that allows him to do a good job. We don't have that for any manager.

I get your point but Watford aren't a project club like Brighton

They're ran by nutters and fire about 5 managers a season
