my worry is some of these teams like Palace and Villa going forward will 'switch off' as they are safe from relegation. Allowing desperate teams like Norwich to beat them.

Ok so that's 18 points (say a couple of draws for 20) from 17 games. We really do not need results from others. That's a smidge over a point a game. We have to be able to do that on our own.
