Yeah probably, I can see it in general, to preserve players as well.

However, I'd like to point out that this was during the whole "Bulgarians are racists" thing, where we tried to show exactly that on purpose for political reasons (not saying there's probably not a majority, but that was entirely on purpose) and England should've had the animosity to destroy us. No spine though.

Yeh maybe, just in general though I don't like seeing these games go 7+ goals, just don't think it's good for the game.

Might be an instruction from the coaches though. You can win but you don't need to humiliate the opponents. It's a nice quality to be a good winner as well as a good loser.
I wanted us to put about 18 past Boreham Wood the other week.
Be arsed buying their kits and paying for their travel as well.
Nice old Everton wind me up.
I know this isn’t a popular view btw.

Tbh I don't think we even can right now lol but we've been too nice in the past.

Was it during Brown shoes that we nearly lost a cup game due to basically refusing to score/play past 2? Or was it more recent? Remember whoever we played nearly came back for literally no reason but us helping them.

Oh in general maybe for some games, yes. That one I can't find it justifiable, and that's only partially because I lost essentially a 10p bet.

Did you dislike Brazil - Germany then?

Nah but they're not the games I (I thouht we) were discussing. It's fine with two big sides going at it - Leipzig score 6+ more than you think.

I just don't like it, or think it's nice, when it's England against pretty much non-league players.

Putting cup matches against gash teams to bed early just dosent happen now.
Weird that.

Yeah I know they do, as recent as last week lol but against the dead last team right?

*I still miss Schalke and can't get myself to watch without them in the BuLi :( Even if I am on limited time for the most part there

Football isn't about everyone being 'nice' though, it's a sport with winners and losers. Never understood (or saw that way of thinking much outside of the UK, but that's not a verifiable source as it is just situations I've been in obviously) the way of thinking.

I'd get it for England - San Marino where the game's over before it starts, but any other type of team I can't justify.

Also that's exactly why I wanted us to play Germany then, as that was also on the cards - Germans don't stop as easy and fast. In a game like that one they'd be 4:0 up and come out to just score once or twice in the second, so I wouldn't have to wait for the 6th for Harry Kane to remember he can actually shoot ffs We actually played a month before that at Wembley and England did the same, disappointingly. Also as you watch German football - Krassi Balakov was the manager for both of the games we're discussing lol

It's not a base of being nice I'm just saying I prefer games like this to be a less in humility. If you're playing against a team in your league or a country that gets to tournaments, fine, go nuts. However when you're playing your Luxembourg's, San Marino's etc. I think sticking 7, 8, 9 past them is just not very good. Footballers should be ruthless but ruthless when faced with competition.

It's like scoring past your kid in the garden and celebrating like you've won the cup.

Which is what you should do - assert dominance, teach him a thing or two about character.

Two footer up next, the little git.
