is it just me that thinks bruce has done an alright job at newcastle

i mean even against Man Utd at Old Trafford they were still in it with 10 minutes to go and could have come away with something

normally they would have been 5-0 down by then

yesterday the sports channels here played both of those Ronaldo games where they beat Newcastle 6-0 and 5-0 in the same season.

I thought Newcastle did well up until Ronaldos first goal, then it opened up and the game was over, took an amazing Fernandes goal to kill the game so I think they did ok.

They gave up around that time. The amount of time Bruno had was criminal.

Sorry 16 miles. Still a loooong way for a “derby”
I take your point. Our “derby” is historically and geographically Millwall. We have a fierce rivalry with Brighton which the media have christened a derby, “The M23 Derby”.
The whole notion of what is and isn’t a Derby has arisen simply because the media keep inventing new ones. The old informal criteria is ignored but this is also to do with increased social mobility and the decline of communities when, to your point, “Derby” meant “Local Derby”. Mind you, aside from the Dundee derby, they will all be further away from each other than Everton and that lot over the park.

See the Glazers Out protests to the fore again yesterday. They're like screaming kids that shut up when handed a new Barbie doll. I bet they made enough from merchandise to run a small country. Job done for the Glazers.
